Q What photos can be used for a portrait?
A Portraits are painted from colour photo, where the subject fills most of the frame and is facing front with a natural expression - as for a passport photo. If you have several options, I can help you choose the one that will work best.
Q What size are the unframed portraits?
A The portraits are 30 x 30cm (11.8 x 11.8 inches)
Q Are the portraits framed?
A No, but I can arrange this for you on request.
Q Are the portraits signed?
A The portraits are signed on the back to preserve the minimalist style of the painting.
Q What format is used?
A The portraits are hand painted on stretched canvas frames using acrylic paints.
Q How do I order & pay for a portrait?
A Complete the enquiries form on the website and attach a suitable photograph. I will then contact you to finalise the order details. Once we have agreed the details, you can place the order using the secure online payment system.
Q Will my portrait be ready for Christmas 2023?
A. Yes, I am still taking orders for Christmas. Please contact me to double-check delivery times for this.
Q How long does it take to receive my portrait?
A The dispatch time varies slightly depending on the number of portraits ordered and other orders in progress. Therefore, the timing for each order is agreed upon individually, but as a rough guide, allow approximately one week for orders of 1-3 portraits and two weeks for larger orders.
Q I need a last-minute gift – can you provide a rescue service?
A I will always do my best to help, so please indicate your target date and I will try to find a solution. However, if I think the time is too short to do a good job, I will be honest about this.
Q How much does delivery cost?
A Each order is individually priced as this varies depending on the number of portraits, framing options, the destination and the urgency. The price for this will be agreed in advance and included in your final invoice.
Q Can I request a different style of portrait?
A The portraits reflect a specific style and are not intended to be a reproduction of the photograph. Please look at the examples on the site, which show both the photo and the final portrait, to be sure this is the style you want.
Q Can I choose the main colours for the portrait?
A Some people have favourite colours or need the portraits to work in a room with a particular colour scheme. So, while I hope you will trust me to pick colours that reflect the character of the photo, I am happy to discuss the colours with you.
